Marvin '81' - Inky Blue
In 1981 a drug addicted and depressed Soul legend, Marvin Gaye, moved to Ostend, Belgium. According to Freddy Cousaert “Marvin loved the rain and the wind, the honesty of the sea" and despite Marvin saying later that he “didn’t even know where Belgium was”, he “left it to the hand of God”. Gaye's time in Belgium produced his best selling album 'Midnight Love' and the bonafide Soul classic, 'Sexual Healing'.
To honour Marvin's ability to keep things HOT in extreme weather conditions, we give you the Marvin Mountain Cap '81' edition. Featuring an extended earflap that fastens under the chin and removable face mask. Worn down, the earflap will tuck into your coat collar, or, worn up it will fasten over the top of the hat.
For the shell we’ve used ‘Hybrid Aero’ washable, dry waxed cotton from Halley Stevensons of Dundee. The lining is a 'warp knitted' polyester micro fleece, woven in Nottingham, and the peak is reinforced with a wire insert. An elastic shock-cord allows adjustment of size right around the head, making it a ‘one size fits all’ hat that does actually fit everyone comfortably.
